Maintenance Planners (also called Maintenance Schedulers or Planning Technicians) develop and manage maintenance schedules for industrial equipment, plant, and infrastructure. They use Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to plan work orders, manage spare parts inventory, coordinate trades teams, and analyse maintenance performance metrics. **What the work involves:** Developing and managing preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, creating and prioritising work orders in CMMS, liaising with operations and trades teams, coordinating shutdown and turnaround planning, tracking KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance), managing critical spare parts inventory. **Why NZ needs you:** NZ's dairy processing, energy, utilities, and manufacturing sectors all have significant plant maintenance requirements. Experienced planners who can bring reliability engineering discipline to NZ operations are in demand.

NZ Salary Range for Maintenance Planner

NZ$60,000 – NZ$88,000
Senior planners with SAP PM, Maximo, or similar CMMS expertise and experience in petrochemical, mining, or process plant earn toward the top.

Salaries are based on NZ market data. Regional and rural positions may offer allowances, relocation support, and retention bonuses in addition to base salary.

  • Trade qualification background (fitter/turner, electrician) is highly valued

Registration / Licensing: No mandatory NZ licensing for Maintenance Planners.
