Is Human Resources Manager on the NZ Green List? — FAQs

Can an HR Manager get an AEWV in New Zealand?

Yes. Human Resources Manager (ANZSCO 132311) is ANZSCO Skill Level 1, qualifying for a 5-year AEWV with no English test required. HR Manager roles in NZ typically pay well above the NZ$35.00/hr immigration median wage.

Is knowledge of NZ employment law required to work as an HR Manager?

While NZ employment law knowledge is valuable, most NZ employers expect to provide orientation on local legislation (Employment Relations Act, Holidays Act, H&S Act). Strong generalist HR skills, ER experience, and people management are transferable. Australia's employment law is particularly similar, making Australian HR managers highly adaptable.
